PRLog (Press Release) – Jan. 31, 2014BENSENVILLE, Ill.The National Night Out is an annual event that focuses on preventing criminal and drug activity by hosting and promoting activities such as block parties, cookouts, youth programs, police visits, contests, parades, exhibits and flashlight walks in an assortment of communities and neighborhoods across the United States. Touted as America’s Night Out Against Crime, the annual events focus on building and improving relationships between the citizens of communities and their local police and sheriff’s department.

Amongst the thousands of police officers who participate and have participated in National Night Out is Officer Lance Spurling, a mounted police offer for the Village of Wayne in Kane County, Illinois. Spurling has participated in Kane County’s National Night Out events hosted at the municipal complex and fire station while mounted on his Appaloosa horse.

While on duty and participating in National Night Out, Spurling uses two saddles that he purchased from SaddleOnline. He rides in both an Australian saddle (model 2400) and an endurance saddle (model 2901). Police involvement in National Night Out allows Spurling to provide a positive community influence while interacting with citizens and helping discourage crime.
